Wood Moisture Meter HM9 WS13 for furniture

The HM9 series of meters are electronic measuring devices used to determine the moisture level in wood.

The meter indicator displays wood moisture in %. The principle of the capacitive and dielectric measurement is used to determine the moisture level. The process uses different dielectric constants of dry, non-conductive materials (approx. 2 – 10) water (approx. 80).

An electrical field generated under the sensor surface (black plate on the bottom of the device) continues in the wood. The water contained in the wood influences this electrical field. This change is detected by the device, evaluated and shown on the display as a moisture value. 

There are 21 predefined types of wood in the device, which can be selected with the arrow buttons.

The wood types are sorted in ascending order according to dry density. If you cannot find the wood type in the menu, refer to the wood type table (see picture 4.1 Wood type table).

As soon as the sensor plate is in contact with the surface  of the specimen measuring starts.

The processor of the instrument analyses the sensor readings and displays the result as a percentage of moisture content in the wood.
