No, calibration of the AlphaSniffer is generally not required. If the device is used correctly, including self-calibration before (allowing it to calibrate for 5 minutes in fresh air) and after the measurement (letting it flush for 10 minutes in fresh air), it can be used for many years without needing factory recalibration. If calibration is needed, we would be happy to provide you with a personalized offer.


How long does the battery of the AlphaSniffer last?

The AlphaSniffer’s battery is designed to last for up to 10 hours of measurement time.


Can the AlphaSniffer be turned off during measurements?

No, we strongly advise against turning off the AlphaSniffer during measurements. The device’s algorithm detects radon decay during active measurement and accurately calculates late decay corrections. If the device is turned off during the measurement process, this data is lost, leading to potentially incorrect measurement results.


Does the AlphaSniffer need to be cleaned?

The AlphaSniffer itself does not require cleaning. However, the filter fleece and filter material in the intake pipe should be regularly cleaned or replaced to maintain optimal performance.


Can the AlphaSniffer be used for soil air measurements outdoors?

While the AlphaSniffer is primarily designed for indoor air measurements, it can also measure radon concentrations in soil air. However, precautions should be taken to prevent water or dirt from entering the device, as this can cause irreparable damage. SCOPE OF DELIVERY

1x AlphaSniffer radon detector

1x Air hose: Connects filter, desiccant and scintillation cell to each other. Only use the black air hose supplied with the AlphaSniffer. The coiled hose connects the desiccant tube to the "inlet" side of the scintillation cell.

1x Inlet filter tube (in the plastic tube): Air should flow through this tube before it enters the scintillation cell. A filter then removes the radon progeny and other particles from the air so that the radon levels can be calculated accurately. The inlet filter also removes excess moisture from the air, ensuring that the radon progeny in the cell are evenly removed from the plate.

1x USB cable: For charging the AlphaSniffer's internal batteries.
